Michael Wilson, Managing Director of UTV Television, having recently announced UTV’s intention to launch a new television station in Ireland from January 2015, is currently one of the busiest people working in the media industry in Ireland today.

However long before he joined UTV, Michael was a student studying a BA in Communications followed by a postgraduate diploma in Broadcast Journalism, so how did he go on to become MD of Northern Ireland’s most popular television channel?

At this exclusive RTS Futures event Michael, who will be interviewed by RTS Futures NI Chairperson Brooke Allen, will talk about his career to date, how he made it into the world of television and how he thinks students and young people can stand out from the crowd in this digital age.
